About this piece
Metal Gear for the NES is a Konami stealth game loosely based on the MSX original. Snake infiltrates Outer Heaven in a mission built around sneaking rather than all-out action.
Its level design can be confusing and the story differs from the original, but it remains a historically significant title with innovative gameplay. Stealth fans and NES collectors will appreciate having it on the shelf. It is a fascinating piece of the series’ early history.
